Fr Anthony Ling
Anthony Ling is an ordained Minister in the Anglican Church of Melanesia. He was born in 1972 on Motalava Island in the north of the Republic of Vanuatu. He is married with two children. Prior to entering ministry, he worked for three years as manager of a Rural Training Centre (RTC) that provide life skills training to primary and secondary school push outs. He attended Bishop Patteson Theological College in the Solomon Islands and later did his Bachelor of Theology at Auckland University in New Zealand. He is currently in his second year of studies at the Pacific Theological College in Suva, Fiji, studying for a Master’s degree in Theology. He was ordained deacon and Priest in 2004. After his ordination, Anthony continued to work in the Church of Melanesia as manager of the Church-run Rural Training Centre, while at the same time training lay ministers which he concurrently served while serving as manager of the RTC. After graduating with a Bachelor of Theology in 2012, Anthony taught at the Fisher Young School of Theology and Ministry in his home Diocese of Banks and Torres. He has served one year as full-time parish Priest and six months as acting parish priest on the Island Vanualava in the Anglican Diocese of Banks and Torres. In all three institutions Anthony has studied, he has valued studying with and making friends with people of different denominations and even different faiths. He continues to value ecumenical relationships and constantly seeks to be actively involved in living and working to enhance ecumenical relationships.
